Terms of use

1. Purpose

These terms of use govern access to and use of Kolmup, its SOS functions, trip monitoring, Pro subscription, incident reports, and related services.

2. Service description

Kolmup is a personal safety application that helps a user prepare a clear alert, monitor a trip, share useful context with a trusted person, and depending on the chosen offer, benefit from added automation such as messages, calls, or report generation.

3. What Kolmup is not

• Kolmup is not a public emergency service.
• Kolmup never replaces official emergency numbers.
• Kolmup does not guarantee intervention by a trusted person, nor constant availability of the network, device, or third-party providers.

4. Access to the service

Access to the service may require an account, Apple Sign In, network access, active system permissions, and for some features, a valid Pro subscription.

5. User obligations

• provide accurate information and keep device limitations in mind;
• not misuse Kolmup for harassment, unlawful surveillance, or deception;
• not trigger false alerts or send false emergency information;
• only add trusted people you are legitimately allowed to involve in this context.

6. Emergency contacts and sharing

The user chooses their emergency contacts and their order of use. When a tracking or report link is shared, the user confirms they are authorized to transmit this information to the relevant person.

7. Permissions and technical dependencies

Some features require location, notifications, contact access, or where applicable, system advertising permissions. Refusing a permission may prevent part of the service from working correctly.

8. SOS feature

The SOS mode is designed to send a clearer signal faster. Kolmup cannot, however, guarantee delivery, reading speed, network quality, or action by a trusted person or third party after reception.

9. Trip monitoring

Kolmup may record trip data to display progress, detect simple anomalies, send reminders, and create useful context. These features depend on the location data actually available.

10. Subscriptions and purchases

• some features are free and others belong to Kolmup Pro;
• in-app purchases, trials, renewals, and refunds are first governed by the platform rules;
• Kolmup may evolve features, pricing, and offer structure for the future.

11. Reports

When available, incident report generation aims to provide a readable chronology based on already collected data. This report is not an investigation, legal advice, or a certification of completeness.

12. Availability

The service may be interrupted, slowed down, or limited for maintenance, incidents, security, technical evolution, a provider request, or regulatory constraints.

13. Security and fair use

It is forbidden to bypass security measures, use Kolmup to access a third party's data without authorization, or exploit public links beyond their intended purpose.

14. Intellectual property

The application, interfaces, visual identity, public page structure, texts, graphics, and software components of Kolmup are protected. Any substantial unauthorized reproduction or reuse is prohibited.

15. Suspension and deletion

Kolmup may suspend access in case of fraud, abusive use, service security issues, or legal obligation. The user may request account deletion through the options provided in the app.

16. Liability

Subject to mandatory applicable law, Kolmup cannot be held responsible for delays or damage caused by lack of network, device failure, refused permissions, third-party providers, or a trusted person's lack of reaction after receiving an alert.

17. Terms updates

These terms may evolve to reflect the service, its providers, or the applicable regulatory framework. The active version is published on this page and may also be communicated in the app.
